Commercial Insurance Advisor - Canton, OH

Dustin Burgess Insurance Group, LLC – Canton, OH

Job Description:
Burgess Insurance is seeking a motivated and results-driven Commercial Insurance Advisor to join our team. This sales-focused role requires strong communication skills and a deep understanding of our insurance products. The advisor will be responsible for acquiring new commercial accounts, managing existing clients, and ensuring long-term business retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed sales goals outlined in the annual producer sales plan.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities from existing clients and targeted prospects.
  • Engage with potential clients to provide quotes and schedule sales meetings.
  • Assess clients’ insurance needs through risk evaluations and policy reviews.
  • Gather underwriting data, including risk assessments and loss history.
  • Develop and present tailored insurance proposals, outlining coverage details, limits, and deductibles.
  • Collaborate with service teams and marketers to submit applications and select appropriate carriers.
  • Conduct client meetings to present policy options, renewals, and risk management solutions.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition to service teams for ongoing client support.
  • Stay informed of client claims and assist in resolution when necessary.
  • Participate in policy renewals by assessing expiring policies and gathering relevant information.
  • Maintain sales reports and attend required team meetings.
  • Represent the agency in the community and promote the insurance industry.
  • Stay updated on industry trends through continued education and carrier training.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of closing sales and meeting targets.
  • Ohio Property & Casualty license (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Minimum of three years in sales, preferably within the insurance industry.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for client meetings.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with occasional interruptions.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of seated work.
  • Professional appearance and business-appropriate attire required.
  • Willingness to travel locally for client and carrier meetings, with occasional out-of-town trips.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $40,000 – $100,000 per year (based on experience and performance).
